Bio

Katrina Kaif was born on 16 July 1983 in Hong-Kong to a Kashmiri father Mohammed Kaif and English Mother Susanna Turcotte. From Hong Kong, she and her family went to China, later to Japan. When she was 8 they moved to France from Japan (by boat) and also moved to Switzerland, Krakow, Berlin, Belgium, and many other East European countries. After all the countries of East Europe they moved to Hawaii, England. When she came to India, she changed her surname to that of her father’s Kaif, because it was Indian by name. With her short career in the hindi film industry, she has already worked with some of the biggest banners and filmmakers.

Career

Katrina started her career with modelling with photographer Atul Kasbekar at an early age of 14. She continued with modelling in London under a contract with the Models 1 Agency and did campaigns for houses such as La Senza and Arcadius.

She has done many advertisements from LG, Cola, Fevicol, Lakme and Veet but she was noticed with the Lakme commercial. She got her first Bollywood break from the movie Boom (2003) and was discovered by the London based filmmaker Kaizad Gustad. She got recognition in 2005 with the film Sarkar and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005).
